Soneva Secret is, without question, one of the most exclusive resorts in the Maldives — fourteen villas, no neighbouring islands, and a maximum of sixty-four guests on property at any one time. There are no other resorts on the atoll, no other islands visible from the water. The philosophy is anti-scale: each villa has a dedicated team of three — a Barefoot Guardian, an assistant, and a private chef — so the ratio of staff to guests is closer to a private residence than a hotel. Every villa has a private pool, a treatment room, and a retractable roof for stargazing.

The surrounding waters are the best argument for the location: regular dolphin pods, seasonal whale sharks, manta rays, and tiger sharks in the reef. A PADI dive centre runs daily excursions. By seaplane from Velana International Airport — approximately 75 minutes to Makunudhoo Atoll in the far north of the Maldives. Soneva operates the transfer in its own custom-liveried Twin Otter seaplane. Seaplanes operate in daylight hours only; guests arriving late into Malé will need to overnight before transferring the following morning.
